Xray Machine

X-ray Machine

The ability to produce images using X-radiation was a pioneering feat within medical and world history. Discovered by German physics Professor Wilhelm Röntgen, X-rays have enabled doctors to see inside the human body without having to perform surgery – revolutionising diagnosis and patient care.

X-rays, with a wavelength ranging from 0.01 to 10 nanometres, have a precise penetrating ability, making them ideal for producing images of the inside of objects, from human tissue to crystalline structures to synthetic casings.

As a result, not only has this innovation made its imprint on medical history, but it has helped scientists discover far-off galaxies, and produced images of tiny organisms and cell structures that normal microscopes couldn’t detect. From airport security scanners to fossil analysis, the ability to produce X-ray images was, without doubt, a marvellous discovery that opened up new worlds and new possibilities for scientists, engineers and the whole human race.
